Professional, Certified Interpreter Services, 24/7 Nationwide
“I’d like to take a moment and ensure the interpreter, RT, is recognized for his outstanding work today and always. He truly went above and beyond today and is extremely appreciated by all of our Employees and Leadership Team. We sincerely thank him and would love to see him recognized.”
I have worked with DIS over the past 10 years and found them to be excellent business partners for providing sign language interpreting services to our students with hearing impairments attending Northwest Vista College.
All of the staff at DIS are able to respond to our needs immediately and professionally. They were timely with arranging and invoicing for their services. Each interpreter was professional, punctual and ethical. The owners of DIS pride themselves on working with integrity and treating their customers well. This high standard is communicated to the entire office staff and the sign language interpreters placed on assignments.I have never questioned the integrity of their interpreters, services or billing process. I can’t say that about other sign language interpreting services that I have worked with over the past 20 years. It is for these reasons that I will always regard DIS as a “step above” all the others available in San Antonio.
St. Mary’s University has been involved professionally with DIS for several years. Initially, we contracted with them to provide interpreters for our graduation ceremonies, but over the years we have contracted with them to provide interpreters for more and more events and university-sponsored programming on campus. Each and every time DIS provided us with skilled, professional interpreters who arrived on time for the events for which they were scheduled.
In addition, in 2011, they truly came to our rescue at the eleventh hour when a participant who registered for a day-long workshop arrived and informed us for the first time that he was deaf and would need interpreters for the day. We contacted DIS immediately and they had two certified interpreters at the university within an hour of the request. Both interpreters were not only highly skilled, they were extremely professional – no indication that they had literally “just gotten an assignment” to interpret at a math workshop at St. Mary’s University!
In the fall of 2013, we added to our professional relationship with DIS by requesting classroom interpreters for a graduate level engineering student. Considering the level of instruction that goes on in a graduate level engineering class, I was briefly concerned about whether or not there were interpreters available who possessed the skill level needed. It turned out, I shouldn’t have been concerned at all, as DIS provided excellent interpreters for every class in which the student was enrolled.
Going forward, we will be adding again to our professional relationship with DIS as I just recently received a request for an incoming student for captioning services in the classroom; considering the level of service we already receive from DIS, I can think of no better company to contract with to provide this service.
DIS states that their mission is to provide professional, state/nationally certified sign language & oral interpreters, video remote interpreting (VRI) and captioning services 24 hours a day, nationwide. For us at St. Mary’s University, they go above and beyond that mission each and every day.
We here at Hand & Microsurgery Associates have utilized DIS as our sign language interpreting service since July 2006, and have been most pleased with the level of service they provide!
DIS scheduling department is friendly and very easy to work with. At times we have had non-scheduled or emergency appointments and they have been able to accommodate us wonderfully!
It is nice to work with an organization that reacts so fast to their client’s needs. The interpreters that come out to our location are always professional and courteous.
DIS’ interpreters have always been professional, reliable and a pleasure to work with. In addition to being a great service provider, DIS is also a great corporate citizen. Marilyn and John Weber, along with other members of their staff, are involved with a wide range of charitable organizations as donors and volunteers. Whether providing paid interpreting services or volunteering their personal time, DIS management and staff are committed to helping people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing overcome barriers to education, employment and social inclusion.
Your interpreters display enthusiasm, communication skills and professional demeanor. DIS interpreters are reliable and dedicated to serving the students of South San before, during and after school. Your office matches the level of need with the right interpreter’s skill level to maximize the student’s academic opportunity.
Of particularly value to me as the SSA manager is the ability to count on DIS to follow through with all commitments. The team provides outstanding level of service, professionalism and follow-through.
I often need a reliable program to provide interpreter services; oftentimes on short notice. I never hesitate to call upon Marilyn and John Weber. They are quick to respond to requests and provide a valuable, professional service with the interpreters they send to our events. Not only are John and Marilyn available for interpreter services, but they also provide an array of support and knowledge about the deaf community. If ever there is a question or a resource needed about the deaf community as a whole, I know I can call on DIS.
DIS has provided for East Central ISD over the past seven years. The team has provided excellent service. They do their best to meet our needs, even at a moment’s notice. It is noteworthy that when necessary, the owner, Marilyn Weber herself has interpreted in order to meet a need for her clients.
Their employees are well-trained, professional, flexible and very reliable. In the seven years that we have been contracting with them, they have provided every type of interpreting service ranging from a 40 hour/week interpreter to someone who would fill in for one class period. Once again, I highly recommend this company for their high quality service and dedication in meeting the needs of individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
I appreciate the ease with which I can request an interpreter online and the immediate acknowledgement I receive via email reassures me that I will have an interpreter for my patient.
Patient satisfaction is our primary goal. I can depend on DIS to meet our request for emergency appointments. Our patients are quite satisfied with the service.
We have five locations in San Antonio, and the interpreters have never had an attendance issue. It’s obvious that DIS prepares their employees well because they always arrive prior to the patients’ appointments no matter which location they’re assigned to. I can see our relationship only becoming stronger in the years to come.
DIS has provided us with deaf interpreters on a consistent basis, and often times have met our needs in urgent situations. Your interpreters are always punctual and professional, and this exhibits your company’s commitment to quality service.
Under the Americans with Disability Act, hospitals must provide effective means of communication for patients and family members who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. You have helped us achieve this important need for effective communication. Thank you for your continued service and for helping the University Health System meet this important goal of patient communication.
SAILS has a long history working successfully with John and Marilyn Weber, owners of DIS. They have provided extremely professional and ethical interpreter services for SAILS for a wide variety of situations such as interpreting services for our deaf consumers during tax season, board meetings and counseling sessions. DIS is always available and provides timely responses.
DIS is passionately involved in many community-wide events that serve people with all types of disabilities. This includes assisting SAILS with interpreters for our annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) celebration. This type of support is vitally important to the success of this huge event.
