Marilyn L. Weber
President & CEO
As CEO, she directly supervises ALL aspects of both, the Interpreting side, and the Video Production side of DIS, ensuring all variables to “Two Worlds / One Voice” are addressed.
Marilyn is a published author, haven written over 30 articles in National Publications specific to Interacting with the Deaf Community in a variety of industries. She has also been featured in numerous Local and National Publications for her work with the Deaf Community and the services DIS provides.
Marilyn has received awards from various organizations recognizing her work and dedication to the Deaf Community, including the National Innovation Award from the Women President’s Organization (WPO); Outstanding Philanthropic Small Corporation Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP); the San Antonio Ethics in Business Finalist Award from the City of San Antonio and the Ecumenical Center; Promoting Inclusion and Accessibility Award from the San Antonio Independent Living Services’ (SAILS) 24th Annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Celebration- San Antonio; and the ADA Employer of the Year award from the 18th Annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Celebration- San Antonio.
She enjoys the outdoors, reading, traveling, and spending time with her beloved family.
John F. Weber
Vice President of Risk & Compliance, COO
As a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) John earned the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) credential, making him Board Certified in Security Management. He was also co-winner of ASIS’s “Excellence in Performance Management” award.
John received his bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher College in Communications and Sociology. He then received his Master’s degree from California State University in Social Science and Criminal Justice. John later graduated from San Antonio College Law Enforcement Training Academy and earned his Texas Master Peace Officer license.
John enjoys spending time with family, working out with his wife, and running Obstacle Course Races.
Forrest Weber
Designer / Media Manager
He lives in New York City, acting as DIS’ rep for the Northeast region of the United States, while simultaneously enjoying a career in theatre, film, and television. Staying connected to DIS’ focus, he has performed with the New York Deaf Theater several times. www.imdb.me/forrestweber
His additional interests include working for the National Basketball Association for over 18 years…. with both, the San Antonio Spurs, and currently with the Brooklyn Nets.
Crystal Tower
Interpreter Coordinator & Deaf Support Specialist (DSS)
Crystal D. Tower, Interpreter Coordinator and Deaf Support Specialist (DSS), has been with DIS since 2004. Crystal manages all the scheduling (local and national), and assists with all aspects of the business operations for DIS. As a highly skilled lipreader, she has assisted law enforcement multiple times in situations where a video had lost the audio. Crystal is also a seasoned “Actor” working with DIS in various Law Enforcement Training Classes.
Crystal’s educational background includes training in Business, Accounting, Deaf Studies and is certified in Equine Management. She enjoys working with horses and being outdoors in her spare time. Crystal, who was born deaf and is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), is married to a Certified Sign Language Interpreter. They have 3 beautiful children who are fluent in ASL.
Belinda Cloud
Account Manager
Belinda is one of DIS’ remote team members – working from a remote office in Truth or Consequences, N.M. She comes onsite to the main office for a week at a time twice a year.
Belinda is a Veteran, having served 4 years in the United States Airforce as a Munitions Systems Specialist.
Belinda has an Associate of Arts degree from Cal State San Bernardino and an Associate of Arts degree from Riverside City College. She is currently attending New Mexico State University to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.
Tina Whiteside
San Antonio Office Coordinator
Tina’s experience includes positions in Insurance and New home building as well as Education, Sales and Training.
She was raised in San Antonio and surrounding areas and is a graduate of Clark High School. After living and working in Austin for 20 years, she is happy to be back in her home town of San Antonio. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, church-related activities and Classic Rock Music.

Issac Shamas
Project Coordinator
He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelors in Information Technology and Associate Degree in Computer Security.
Issac’s responsibilities include managing of project/strategy and business development. Issac is also a liaison with our various social media and public relations outreach efforts.
Abel Lopez
Deaf Support Specialist (DSS) & Web Support
Abel Lopez is a highly skilled Deaf Support Specialist (DSS) and Web Support professional who brings extensive experience in IT/Web Development to the team. With a strong drive to meet and exceed team expectations, Abel is committed to ensuring website security. In addition to his expertise in Web Development, Abel serves as a dedicated Deaf Support Specialist at Various Schools, working closely with deaf students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade.
Abel holds a degree from St. Philips College, where he excelled in IT and Web Development, complemented by a Minor in Tai Chi. Furthermore, he possesses more than 10 Continuing Education certifications, covering a wide range of common internet languages such as Ruby on Rails, Django, Python, PHP, MySQL, MariaDB, and Linux Systems Administration. Abel’s dedication to staying updated on the latest techniques, software, and technologies is reflected in his active participation in online research and networking with fellow IT professionals from diverse fields.
When Abel steps away from the computer, he enjoys quality time with his wife, three children, and their dog. He also indulges in hobbies like jewelry crafting and sewing. An avid sports fan, Abel passionately supports his favorite teams, the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys.
