DIS is very excited about the upcoming San Antonio Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) celebration on Saturday, July 25th. The event will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of ADA, the most important piece of legislation to help persons with disabilities. The ADA completely changed the future for persons who have disabilities when it was signed into law in 1990.

Taking place at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s downtown Bill Miller Plaza at 501 West Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. from 8:30am-1pm, the event will kick-off with a pep rally. Miss San Antonio, Emma Rudkin, is the special keynote speaker, and the honorable district attorney Nico LaHood will be honored as the public servant of the year during the celebration.

Additional activities will include a number of diverse community resource exhibitors, ADA t-shirts, additional community awards and a complimentary lunch for attendees.

In celebration of 25 years of the ADA, leave a comment below and tell us how the ADA has benefited you.
